Trader Joe's Lungo coffee capsule review

Trader Joe’s Lungo review: capsule & coffee cup

Trader Joe’s Lungo capsule is an Arabica blend made from Latin American and Sumatran coffee beans.

TRADER JOE’S LUNGO CAPSULE REVIEW

Trader Joe’s Lungo capsule is pretty soft and pleasant. It features a clean woody flavor and, contrary to some other lungo capsules find the right balance, delivering medium strength with the right body, which means it’s neither too watery nor too thick. While you can certainly argue it lacks complexity – a hint of chocolate would have been great here – it is solid enough to add it to my selection of go-to lungo capsules, which says a lot as being an espresso drinker I only drink two other lungo capsules listed here.

COFFEE PAIRING

Trader Joe's Lungo capsule box

Trader Joe’s Lungo coffee capsule box

  • Activities: This one is good for breakfast and keep you going in the morning, whether you’re working or chilling.
  • Music: My pick goes to Oakland Post-Punk band Wax Idols’ latest Happy Ending.
  • Food: Something with chocolate, whether it’s a chocolate croissant or a Nutella crepe.

UNBOXING

Trader Joe’s Lungo comes in a white aqua-themed rectangle box. It opens from the top and includes 10 turquoise capsules. While the design featured follows the brand’s style guidelines, the fact that they call these capsuleslungo and categorize them as espresso is confusing as they are two different beverages, the former being 3.70 oz and the latter 1.35 oz. Hope they will clarify their packaging.
