PERU SECRETO CAPSULE REVIEW

Following the highly popular Monsoon Malabar – it’s already sold-out but you can still get it in our store – here comes another limited edition capsule, Perú Secreto. Made from Peruvian Arabica beans, this new coffee isn’t as striking as Monsoon Malabar and can be somewhat disappointing initially. With an intensity of 8 and a very smooth texture, Perú Secreto takes a while to reveal itself, with hints of bitter cocoa slowly piercing through before leaving a salty after taste. What I probably like the most about it is finely balanced, delivering intensity without making you feel it.

COFFEE PAIRING

  • Activities: Because you will need several cups to get acclimated with Perú Secreto, I would suggest starting the day with a cup and indulging in a couple more to let it express itself.
  • Music: Don’t worry, because it’s from Peru doesn’t mean I will suggest the likes of Wendy Sulca or La Tigressa Del Oriente. Rather, I would go with Mazzy Star, a band known for its slow burn songs.
  • Food: I would pair that one with Nutella toasts as they complement each other very well, both showcasing chocolaty flavors.

PACKAGING

Nespresso’s Perú Secreto comes in a beautiful rectangle box featuring an embossed golden logo, blue text as well as some discreet Inca-style pattern located on the tip of the box. It includes 10 blue coffee capsules.
